How is the SOMNOS comforter different from other weighted blankets?
Weighted blankets have been around for many years, however there were certain vital aspects lacking that SOMNOS wanted to incorporate into their vision of a weighted blanket.
The SOMNOS comforter delivers the following unique qualities :
- Many people have struggled to get a full night’s sleep without getting extremely hot. SOMNOS has successfully designed a weighted comforter that does not create excess heat.
- Different Materials: Most weighted blankets use plastic, hence SOMNOS chose to only use natural fibers and glass marbles for the weights (which are not only biodegradable but also smooth to the touch and distribute more evenly).
- A zipper function is included which enables the SOMNOS comforter to be used as a lap pad. People with anxiety who tested the SOMNOS comforter reported that it helped them to cover their lap or legs with the comforter (zipped, unzipped or folded).
- It can be folded and put into a customised SOMNOS bag which makes it far easier to carry and store, enabling it to play a key role in one’s daytime routine. For example, taking it to the office or using it in travel.
- Instead of the the large quadratic weight pockets usually used in the past, SOMNOS has designed slim body-contouring channels which enable the comforter to drape over the body; maximising its medical benefits.
- It is machine washable at 60 degrees!

How do I use the comforter in bed?
The comforter should only cover the top of the bed and NEVER hang over the sides. The reason for this is due to the weights inside (that will cause the comforter to slip off the bed) and instead of getting the rest needed, one will repeatedly be forced to pull the comforter back onto the bed.

Will putting a duvet cover on the SOMNOS affect its breathability?
A regular cotton duvet cover will not affect the breathability of a SOMNOS comforter. Depending on the individual, it can be used with or without a duvet cover as preferred.

Does it make you hot?
Weighted blankets have been known to cause the individual’s body temperature to increase creating discomfort. One of the main reasons why SOMNOS was created was to tackle this problem. If I have claustrophobia, can I still use this comforter?
It all depends on the individual, however after testing the comforter on people with claustrophobia, SOMNOS recommends that they ease themselves into it by covering their feet first and over time covering more of their body. If the individual is heavily claustrophobic then perhaps it is better to start off with a lighter comforter. Nonetheless SOMNOS leaves the decision of using the product to the buyer’s discretion.

How did SOMNOS decide on the sizes?
It has been proven to work far better if a comforter is made to fit the body, therefore the sizes given by SOMNOS are not equivalent to the usual blanket sizes in the market. The SOMNOS comforter has been specifically made to fit the individual and not the bed.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
